We were about 25 miles south of Kansas City when we all voted to reroute to Grandma and Grandpa Limoges house in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. We decided we wanted to surprise them and started drafting our plan.

First, we needed intel. We reached out to Uncle John and asked him to find out if Gma and Gpa would be home. Check! ✔️

Next, we needed a plan to get into their condo. Clark decided we would fake a fed ex delivery. He used the next couple of hours to put together his new identity as Jeff the Fed Ex guy. Double check. ✔️✔️

And we were off! 7 hours to go: first Kansas, then Missouri, Iowa and into South Dakota to surprise Clark’s parents.

I’ve posted the best videos of our “Fake Fed Ex delivery” ploy below to get Gma to open the door and Gpa’s reaction once Clark and the kiddos surprised him inside the condo.

The kiddos had the best night’s sleep in all our nights on the road. I felt like I was coming home from college- I took the longest shower, enjoyed indoor plumbing at it’s finest and did about 4 loads of laundry.

Thanks Gma and Gpa for letting us “stop by” for some R&R. We will visit longer next time, we promise! We love you! Tomorrow, onward to Mount Rushmore KOA at Palmer Gulch. We cancelled Salina KOA in Kansas and Ogallala KOA in Nebraska. We will pick up our prior route at Papa Moon Vineyard in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on June 5th.
